Sanderson Farms Names New Manager of Training

LAUREL, Miss. – Jennifer Franklin,former Corporate Recruiter for Sanderson Farms, has recently been named the poultry producer’s newest Manager of Training at the Corporate Office.

As Manager of Training, Franklin will be responsible for appraising activities within the organization by assessing and diagnosing the culture of the company to assist management in developing an organization that is aligned with their vision and mission. In addition to analyzing and interpreting the company’s culture, she will oversee the design, development and implementation of all systems and procedures for salaried and hourly training. Franklin will also be responsible for managing the organization’s Corporate Trainee Program, which aids in training newly hired employees to build a working knowledge of the overall operation of Sanderson Farms, as well as the poultry industry at large.

Franklin is an honors graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She joined Sanderson Farms as a Beginning Trainee in March 2010, and has, until her recent promotion, been serving as Corporate Recruiter in the Organization Development Department.

While serving as Corporate Recruiter, Franklin was responsible for recruiting qualified candidates for placement in the company’s Corporate Trainee and Summer Internship programs. In addition to recruiting candidates and facilitating interviews for those candidates, she also organized and coordinated recruiting events, otherwise known as Super Chicken Road Shows, to help attract talented college students to the company from all five states in which it operates.

Prior to her employment with Sanderson Farms, Franklin worked for the McAlister’s Deli restaurant franchise for sixteen years, spending the last eleven years as a Multi-Unit Operator and Area Director of more than 18 locations in the Memphis and North Mississippi areas. During her tenure with the company, she was responsible for a variety of restaurant operations and management functions, most notably the recruiting, hiring and training of salaried and hourly employees.

In her spare time, Franklin enjoys spending time with her four-year-old daughter, Isabella, they currently reside in Petal, Mississippi. Jennifer and her daughter enjoy attending Petal United Methodist Church.
