Georgia Red & Black Wings

Sweet red sauce and smoky black seasoning create a flavor blitz that’s a game day winner. These wings will have your crowd barking for more.

Ingredients

1 Sanderson Farms Party Wings Value Pack (5 lbs.)

Bourbon Sweet Tea Brine

1/2 gallon water

1/2 gallon sweet tea

1/4 cup bourbon

1/8 cup sugar

1 tblsp Coarse ground black pepper

2 each garlic Ccoves

4 each bay leaves

Cherry Chipotle Barbecue Sauce

1 cup cherry preserves

1 cup ketchup

4 each chipotle peppers

4 tblsp Adobo Sauce from canned chipotles

1 tblsp soy sauce

1 tblsp molasses

1 tblsp Worcestershire sauce

1 each lime (juice & zest)

1 tblsp honey

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

Directions

1. Brine chicken wings for 12 hours, up to 24 hours.

2. Remove wings from brine and pat dry.

3. Liberally season wings with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, & smoked paprika.

4. Smoke wings at 250°F for 30 minutes. Increase the temperature of the smoker to 375°F. Flip wings every 20 minutes until 165°F or greater temperature is reached by a calibrated thermometer.

5. Toss wings in cherry chipotle bbq sauce.

6. Enjoy!

Bourbon Sweet Tea Brine

1. Combine all ingredients in a stock pot and bring to a boil.

2. Remove from heat and let aromatics steep for 30 minutes.

3. Strain and refrigerate until use.

Cherry Chipotle Barbecue Sauce

1. Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan. Simmer on medium heat for about 20 minutes to reduce.

2. Allow sauce to cool completely. Then, blend in a blender until smooth.

3. Taste your sauce and add salt and/or pepper if desired.

4. Coat the smoked wings in the BBQ sauce & enjoy!
